Begin your coding adventure, starting from 'Scratch'

The digital diary: November 2021

For our school sessions last month, we created the ‘Barclays Big Band’ coding project. Using Scratch, we created musical instruments which resulted in a digital orchestra in classrooms across the country!

We also launched a couple of new pages on our website, including this blog and the ‘Begin your coding adventure’ page. The page helps kids get their digital journey started by taking learners on a self-led trip of coding discovery, using Scratch.

Let's get coding!

In November, our online sessions will focus on using loops and repetition in our code to create some simple shape drawings and some really cool patterns. Code along in our Repetition level 1 sessions by booking a free space for your class. We have lots of sessions across the two-week period to fit even the busiest timetable. Happy coding everyone!

In the meantime

We’ve got lots of different activities here on our website to help keep you learning and entertained. Sometimes it can be difficult to know exactly where to start. If you’re not sure which project will help you learn the basics, or where to go after you’ve completed a particular game, you can head over to the ‘Begin your coding adventure’ page.

On this page you’ll find an interactive series of projects to help you learn the basics in a simple order and all for free. Take your adventure to the next level by completing the basic courses and gaining the confidence to take on some of our more advanced projects, and the chance to create your own too.
