Together for a safer internet

1 February 2022

The digital diary: February 2022

We’ve had a brilliant start to the year so far, completing our repetition session series in January, which originally began in November 2021. Our January session saw 1725 keen coders from over 50 schools across the country revisit our Shark game challenge, using loops and repetition to animate our characters in the project. Feedback has been great, with Claire, a teacher from Leicester, sharing “Thank you so much, the children loved the session today and mostly managed to keep up and complete the project. We'll definitely be booking a session for the new project in February.” Feel free to email in, or visit our socials, to share your thoughts on our January and upcoming sessions, we love hearing back from students and teachers.

Let's get coding!

Let’s get coding!

We’re building on January’s momentum by bringing you a special session to coincide with Safer Internet Day, Tuesday 8 February. This will be a two-week series of sessions, starting 31 January, with a theme of internet safety. We’ll be creating a fun and helpful quiz through ‘list variables’, commonly known as ‘arrays’. Book a space online for your class, for free, and code along to the project with our Code Playground team.

Happy coding everyone!

Until we see you for our Safer Internet Day session, we’ve got something to keep you coding while you wait. With February just around the corner, love is in the air as Valentine’s Day approaches. Help our princess find her perfect match with this project that looks at the importance of sequencing in our coding. You can follow the guide or use your own ideas to create a happily-ever-after story. We’d love to see the stories you create. You can share them through our social media channels, we’re on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, just search ‘Digital Eagles’
